Welcome to the online art gallery of professional artist April Lowe Moseley.  The artist is currently working on a large body of wildlife paintings to present to galleries. Therefore, paintings are not currently for sale to the public.

Artist's Statement:  "I paint almost 99% of the time in oils, I prefer the vibrance of color & the clarity you can only get with oils.  My inspiration is nature itself.   One needs no stronger inspiration.   My art is but an humble, pale copy of that which I see with my own eyes.  I would be considered a nature or wildlife artist, leaning as close as I can to realism; I prefer to paint that which God has created, not man. I prefer to paint WILD animals, as I wish to show the incredible complexity and uniqueness of them. They are not "commonplace" , not a creature you see everyday and take for granted. The more you look at animals in depth, the more you realize how incredibly complex their forms are, that something beyond this world created them.  They are to be respected, they are God's creatures.  I would be considered a "self taught" artist, I have no degrees or formal schooling in art.  The paintings I currently have are mainly portraits of wildlife, I am working on some larger paintings with the wildlife in their natural habitats, as you would see them in the wild."

When Earth's last picture is painted
And the tubes are twisted and dried
When the oldest colors have faded
And the youngest critic has died
We shall rest, and faith, we shall need it
Lie down for an aeon or two
'Till the Master of all good workmen
Shall put us to work anew

And those that were good shall be happy
They'll sit in a golden chair
They'll splash at a ten league canvas
With brushes of comet's hair
They'll find real saints to draw from
Magdalene, Peter, and Paul
They'll work for an age at a sitting
And never be tired at all.

And only the Master shall praise us.
And only the Master shall blame.
And no one will work for the money.
No one will work for the fame.
But each for the joy of the working,
And each, in his separate star,
Will draw the thing as he sees it.
For the God of things as they are!
